To allow your arbitrage bot to trade on your behalf using your Kraken Pro account, you'll need to create and connect special access keys called API keys. These keys provide a secure way for the bot to interact with your Kraken Pro account without you having to directly log in each time. Here's how to do it:

Creating API Keys in Kraken Pro

  • Log in to your Kraken Account: Open your web browser and go to the official Kraken website (). Enter your username and password to log in.

  • Switch to Kraken Pro: Once you're logged in, look for the App switcher icon, usually located in the top right-hand corner of the page. Click on it and select Kraken Pro from the options. This will take you to the Kraken Pro interface.

  • Access Profile Settings: In Kraken Pro, locate and select Profile Settings. This might be accessible via a profile icon or your account name in the top right corner.

  • Navigate to Connection and API : Within the Profile Settings, find and select API. This will take you to the API key management page.

  • Create a New API Key: On the API page, click on Create API.

  • Name Your API Key: A pop-up window will appear. In the Name section, type Arbique. This will help you easily identify the purpose of this API key later.

  • Select Necessary Permissions: You'll now need to grant the API key the permissions required for your arbitrage bot to function. Carefully select all the checkboxes under the following sections:

    • Funds Permission

    • Orders and trades

Important: Do not enable any withdrawal permissions unless explicitly instructed by your bot provider and you fully understand the risks involved.

  • Enable IP Address Restriction: For enhanced security, it's highly recommended that you restrict the API key to only be accessible from specific IP addresses. Turn on the IP address restriction option.

  • Enter Allowed IP Addresses: Enter the following IP addresses, separating each one with a comma (,) in the designated field: 209.38.162.7, 209.38.162.148, 209.38.170.165.

  • Generate API Key and Verify Identity: Click on the Generate key button. You will then need to follow the Kraken procedure to verify your identity. This might involve entering a code from your authenticator app or confirming via email. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

  • Save Your API and Secret Key: Once the key is generated, you will be shown your API Key and Secret Key. It is extremely important that you copy both of these keys and store them in a safe place immediately. The Secret Key will only be displayed once and cannot be retrieved again if you lose it. You will need to enter these keys into your Arbique account in the next steps.
